I made all these guys out of fondant a day or two ahead of time. The green tunnel that Mario is on I did out of Rice Krispy Treats and covered in fondant. Everything except the wicks on the little bomb guys is edible. I keep trying to pick which one of the little characters is my favorite and have come to the conclusion that they all are.
I made the cake today. Honestly, I really enjoy doing cakes and have fun making most of them, but for some reason, I was really excited about this one. I think because Super Mario Bros. was the only video game I ever played as a kid, it made me a little nostalgic. I hope the Birthday Boy enjoys eating it as much as I enjoyed making it!

This is so cool! It takes me back to days sitting on the floor in front of the TV playing Nintendo with my siblings. Such a cute cake. Great job!
