3rd Birthday Shirts

My baby turns 3 tomorrow so I made her a couple of shirts for the occasion.

For the first one, I just cut out the scooter freehand and used a zig-zag stitch to applique it to the shirt. Then I took some coordinating birdie fabric and added a little ruffle to the bottom.

For her second shirt, I used my Cricut to cut out the circle, the letters, and the number. She is going to wear this one for her little party and she is so excited about it. I had a hard time convincing her to take it off after taking the picture so we could keep it clean for tomorrow.

Baby gifts

I finally got around to making a matching onesie and burp cloth to go with this baby blanket that I made a couple of weeks ago. I’m really loving the bright colors. 014

Zeik’s cake

My nephew turned 9 on Valentine's Day, but since my sister and her family were coming to visit this weekend, they decided to celebrate it with a little family party at my parents’ house yesterday. My nephew wanted a motorcycle cake. Since I knew my abilities would not allow me to make a motorcycle out of cake and actually have it look good, I went the cheater route and bought a motorcycle toy as a topper. For the cake, I did a desert scene because where he lives and rides his motorcycle is in the middle of a desert in the middle of nowhere.

Happy Birthday Zeik!

Fun Baby Blanket

After last year’s baby boom of boys, I was excited to hear that a couple of ladies I know are going to be having girls this spring/early summer so I got a jump start on some baby gifts. I know the fabrics aren’t  in your traditional baby girl colors, but I think they are really cheery. Hopefully the flowers girly it up enough007010
I am going to do something matching to go with when I figure out what it is I want to make so stay tuned.
